| Yellowstone Country Club is a private, member-owned club.
Designed by world-renowned golf course architect Robert Trent Jones and constructed in 1958, is among the most beautiful in the Yellowstone region. Sloping gently from north to south, the course features winding swales and an abundance of mature trees. Outstanding vistas surround the course, providing an inspiring backdrop for the game of golf.
Fun to play, Yellowstone judiciously punishes bad shots and rewards good shots, and while providing a stiff test for the expert, does not break the spirit of the average golfer. The course includes "strategic" holes like the 6th and 7th, that can be played differently according to ability, as well as "heroic" and "penal" holes. The 8th hole is heroic in that it requires a 100% carry from tee to green. The 15th hole is an excellent example of a penal hole in that it requires straight away shots to the tightly trapped target areas, penalizing any missed shots.
By taking advantage of natural tee and green sites and by varying the pace and par of holes, the Yellowstone Country Club golf course presents a new challenge to every player every round. |
